Work Video

blog-highresThis week our project was to gather footage that related to our brand and edit a video using Final Cut Pro.  The project was time consuming but once I was able to get the hang of Final Cut Pro, things flew by!  To help things out, a storyboard was created to organize the different questions.

Using my Iphone as the screen-shot-2017-02-23-at-7-45-17-pmcamera, I had help from a few friends.  Each answered three different questions: What does work mean to you?  How many hours do you feel comfortable working during the School Year?  How do you manage your time?  After I had the footage needed, it was time to edit.  Once everything was edited, exported into a QuickTime Movie, and then uploaded it to Youtube.

Each person gave a little bit different answer to each question which I loved!  Everyone is different and comfort levels change when it comes to school.  Some can manage working a lot while others would rather focus all attention on school. Overall I really enjoyed using Final Cut Pro.

Infographic- Work Edition

infographic_836_be23197fdad2bc17461d24095f8586746ec4cbdcThis week I put together a little info-graphic that showed a bit about my personal work life.  Maintaining three jobs sounds way more complicated and stressful than it actually is…  I swear I am not insane and I swear I still have a social life!  With working, I find myself feeling better because my time wasn’t wasted away all day.  Time management is one of the most important skills one can have and being a full time student with three different jobs presents a challenge that I love overcoming week after week.

I would highly recommend using a info-graphic anytime you are trying to present information to someone.  Visually it is much more pleasing rather than bullet points on a power-point.  It is a very simple website to navigate through and figure out, it has templates all set up ready for your information to be typed into the spaces.

For my info-graphic I gave a short phrase for the three jobs: Mully’s Bar and Grill, 2020 information, and Victor Axe & Tool.  People always ask me which job I like best and I can never answer the question.  Each job is enjoyable in its own way, each have pro’s and con’s.  They are all completely different categories of jobs and I love that.  Everyday presents a new challenge and different mindset depending on which job I am going into, and that challenge is what I live for.  Like always, get out and start workin’!

Branding

For my first blog post I thought I would start off with something a little different.  I set up an account for Brand Yourself which is a website that helps you delete Google searches that are not actual results about yourself.  It helps you delete search results that appear when someone tries to find more information on you.

Why is this important?  Many reasons, most important being branding yourself.  Well, no kidding but more positive branding results in better opportunities in your future. My initial score was a D+ since most of the results that appear were not anything to do with myself.

After the initial score, the website provides many suggestions on how to improve your score.  It goes through a process showing you how to do the suggestions making it very simple to increase your score.  The more steps you do the better your score resulting in better branding. Brand Yourself makes it very easy to make your LinkedIn profile and other profiles better.  Overall the website set my future up for better opportunities and would highly recommend to anyone.  Now get out and start Workin’!
